Vestas, GE Lead Wind-Turbine Market as U.S. Installations Surge
General Electric Co. (GE) tied with Vestas Wind Systems A/S (VWS) as the
biggest turbine maker with less than 50 megawatts between them,
unsettling the Danish maker's 12-year hold on the title, Bloomberg New

Enel to Invest 80 Million Euros in Romanian Solar Parks, ZF Says
Enel Green Power SpA (EGPW), a unit of Italian utility Enel SpA (ENEL),
may invest about 80 million euros ($105 million) in solar parks in
Romania in the next four years, Ziarul Financiar reported today.

Germany to Support Solar Backup Batteries With Subsidy
Germany will subsidize consumers' purchases of battery systems to store
power from solar panels through a 25 million-euro ($32.6 million)
program to promote wider use of renewable energy, the German Solar
Industry Association.

Brazil Furnishes $1.2 Billion of Funds for Clean-Energy Research
Brazil will provide 2.4 billion reais ($1.19 billion) of cheap loans and
grants for renewable- energy research projects through 2016 as part of a
government effort to spur investment in innovation.
